    !BIOGRAPHY: Stanley served in WWI- stationed in England; Married English girl Judith Ellen Pye, before coming home. They bought a farm in Fairfield,Camas Co., Idaho, moving there in August 1919. They lost it by foreclosure in the bank failure of 1924. They rented another farm, lived there and farmed for four years until it was sold. Moved into the town of Fairfield the fall of 1928 where he worked in the department store for a few years. During the depression he janitored the grade school and LDS church; worked for the forest service; finally found permanent work with the State Highway Dept.
    In October 1945 they moved to Gooding, Idaho, where he did carpentry.
    From Oct. 1965 to 1978 Stanley did the temple work for 215 men.
    Stanley had a massive stroke Jun 17, 1980, while visiting dau, Jean, in Bozeman, MT., died in the Bozeman Deaconess hospital and is buried in the Kaysville-Layton cemetery with his wife and son.

    Judith Ellen, more commonly known as "Nell" married an American GI (Stanley G. Smith) and came to the USA as a war bride in May 1919. They first came to Stanley's home town in Utah then later settled in Fairfield, Camas, Idaho. She died Sep. 1964 of Uterine cancer.

    "Billy" left school at 12 yrs. of age. He was employed by a brick maker.
    His job was to wheel the clay from the clay yard to the brickmaker.

    When a young man, he began as an employee of the Garston sewer dept. He helped lay the drains and pipes at Speke Road Airport.

    In 1902 when Garston was incoporated into the city of Liverpool he became a District Foreman. Later was appointed an Inspector of the southern 1/2 of Liverpool by the Council. He retired at the age of 65.

    He was a drummer in the Orange Lodge band.

    They joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day-Saints in England and emigrated to the US with his wife, Emma, and three children in 1866. They traveled by train in a cattle car to Nebraska then crossed the plains in the first mule train with the Thomas Ricks Company.
    A note in my father's records said James II was kicked out of the home when he joined the LDS church.

    James and Sarah Stanley Bishop operated a bakery shop on Duke St. in
    Cheltenham, Glouc., Eng. They were converted to the L.D.S. church in 1851.
    They sold the bake shop and sailed for America on the 'Arizona' on October
    21, 1884, arriving in New York November 1884. They traveled by train to Utah to join two sons who had come earlier. They settled in Kaysville, Utah.

    Sarah (Sally) Stanley and James Bishop met at a bake shop in Cheltenham
    where they both worked. She was the mother of 11 children; helped in the
    bake shop and at all times made the LDS Missionaries welcome providing a
    a bed and meals. Sarah was dilligent in doing temple work for her dead.

    William Pye Sr. was a brickmaker. He became foreman at the brick yard.
    Later he became a carter. He was kicked in the leg by his horse, developed gangrene, had his leg amputated then died in the hospital.
